The opportunity for which you’ve applied is a remote, project-based, contractor position working for Mometrix Test Preparation, an educational media company based in southeast Texas. The first step in the application process is to submit a brief writing sample. The purpose of this writing sample is to give you a chance to demonstrate your technical knowledge and writing skills in a situation that is representative of the work involved in this position. In this writing sample, you will create test prep content related to the EMT exam.

Write and submit 2-3 multiple-choice practice questions with answer explanations based on one or more topics found here. Where possible, these questions should go beyond testing simple understanding or recall of the concepts and test the actual application of them.

Writing Guidelines

• Question Stem: Avoid writing questions that are purely definition-based or which require recalling simple facts (e.g., “Which of the following is the definition of pure risk?”). A better version of the same question topic could involve providing an example or applying the information to a specific situation (e.g., “Which of the following is an example of pure risk?”).
• Answer Choices: Each practice question should include four answer choices. All answer choices should be plausible, but with only one truly correct answer. Please refrain from including any “all of the above” or “none of the above” style answer choices in your submission.
• Explanation: Provide a brief explanation, relating the correct answer to the question. The explanation should provide enough information to understand why the correct answer is correct and, if helpful, explain the incorrect choices as well. The explanation should offer enough information to instruct readers who answer incorrectly.

When you have completed your sample, please submit your document with one of these forms. Please only submit your sample as a Word, Google, or other text document and not as a PDF or image.
